Cards in First?

I know what you're thinking, Cardinals in first? Pretty surprising after the departure of their franchise player, Albert Pujols in the winter of 2011. Although, in this week's edition of ESPN's MLB Power Rankings the Cards have drove in to the number 1 spot. Wreaking havoc among the National League, the Red Birds have been known for their outstanding starting pitching. As of late, their offense has been hitting their stride, scoring an NL high of 4.8 runs per game. The Cardinals are 37-19 (as of June 2nd) and will not be slowing down anytime soon. World Series contenders you say? It's too early to count on it, but if they keep playing to their potential we will. Rounding out the top 5 we have: Rangers dropping down 1 to the number 2 spot, the Reds have remained in third for the past 3 weeks, the Red Sox have jumped up two positions to the number 4 spot, and then the Atlanta Braves have dropped to 5th.
